Abstract
• The Gene Sampling tool enables rapid RNA purification for genetic analysis on ISS. • The technology is non-destructive to the sample and allows repeated testing. • The tool was successfully used for plant gene expression analysis on orbit. • The average Ct values of the ground control and the ISS tests were 17.5 and 15.2.
