Abstract

One of the striking features of the Spacelab 2 payload is its relatively large complement of UK instruments – two out of a total of 13. Together with Spacelab 1 which includes eight UK experiments in a total of 77 in that payload, this will give scientists in the UK substantial access to a system which is aimed at freeing them of some constraints under which they have hitherto worked.
