Abstract

The principles and characteristics of fully polarized microwave scatterometer was analyzed and asimulation model for fully polarized microwave scatterometer system was established.Wind retrieval quality of fully polarized and co-polarized system were compared under parameters of the SeaWinds scatterometer.The results show that fully polarized scatterometer has better performance than conventional co-polarized system in the nadir region and outlying region in swath.And it can improve wind inversion accuracy under high wind-speed conditions.Finally,the effects of polarization isolation on the measurement performance of fully polarized scatterometer system were analyzed.
