Abstract

The inauguration of a new Democratic administration in Washington offers the chance to revitalize the US space programme. A useful strategy would be a conference convened by the President in 1994 to discuss how to implement the recommendations of the National Commission on Space for opening up the high frontier. This Viewpoint outlines the issues that might be debated and the likely outcomes of such a conference.
