Abstract
Mucous retention cysts tend to occur in the maxillary sinus. They are rarely found in the other paranasal sinuses. Incidence's vary from 1.4% to 9.6%in the general population. (1)Odontogenic cysts arise from the epithelium associated with the development of teeth. Therefore, this type of cyst is not what you would expect to find in the maxillary sinus.
