Abstract
It is highly likely that ETI, if found, will be found away from the Solar System. Thus we need to understand in human terms, what the implications of space, the stars, and the planets are for the development of an intelligent species. Space is the stage upon which interaction between intelligent life forms (ILFs) will take place. For the purposes here, the nature of space as understood by astronomers is insufficient: we need to understand these features through the lens of ILF experience.
