Space design of axial artery traffic in linear cities: Yiwu Guomao Avenue

Abstract

Linear city is limited by geographical form with subsequent limited artery traffic land, highly compound function and more complex relationship of dependencies and constraints between traffic and land use. At present, the domestic traffic research on linear city focuses on traffic mode, traffic congestion control, traffic strategy research and traffic characteristics, which is less involved in traffic space design. Aiming at the common problems of linear city artery traffic, this paper systematically puts forward the idea of spatial design of linear city artery traffic from four dimensions: vertical perpendicular space, axial linear space, longitudinal plane space and traffic critical space and applies it in landscape improvement of Yiwu Guomao Avenue, organic renewal of old urban areas, rail transit construction and enhance town landscape along the road, providing a reference for the design of urban traffic space of the same type.
