Abstract

AbstractThe concentration profiles of minority charge carriers in ideal space charge regions are calculated. In most cases the space charge potential and thus also the minority carrier profiles are determined by the interface interaction of the majority charge carriers with the neighbouring coexisting phase. The conductivity effects of the minority charge carriers in space charge regions are derived for macro‐ and micro‐sized systems. The important procedure of Wagner‐Hebb‐polarization for determining these quantities is extended for inhomogeneous systems under consideration.
