Abstract

The techniques whereby data acquired at different times and/or by different sensors can be integrated are the focus of a wide debate in the field of information technologies. The authors suggest the application of some of these techniques relying upon image superimposition to reach a more precise morphological evaluation of anatomical pictures shown by MR and CT scan or their evolution over time. This study is aimed at investigating possible clinical applications of an «open» Hardware-Software system, based on a graphic station, easy to use and update, allowing the development of functions which are not currently available on «dedicated» systems.
