Abstract

1. A survey of the principal, primarily monographic and to a lesser degree article-type, literature on the history of Russia during the feudal period published in the last two years has to be preceded by a glance at the state of so important a component of a historian's work as publication of source materials. The years 1965-1966 saw republication of the Chronicler of the Beginning of the Kingdom (in an earlier edition than before), of the Alexander Nevsky Chronicle (only a fragment of which had previously been published), of the Lebedevskaia Chronicle (previous publication of which had been faulty), of the Novgorod II Chronicle and the Chronicler of Vladimir (formerly only excerpts of this had been published). Photo-reproduction was employed to reissue the Nikonovskaia Chronicle, the Chronicler of Rogozh, the New Chronicler, and others. The Bykhovets Annals [khronika] was published.
