Abstract

In this article on the basis of archival sources and eyewitness' memories some aspects of daily life of the Chechens and Ingush deported to Kazakhstan in 1944 are characterized. Particular attention is paid to the nature of the relations development between the deported Chechens and the Ingush with the local population during the existence of a special settlement regime. The problem of the North Caucasian people deportation closely intersects not only with political problems, but also with issues of interethnic relations. In this regard, it, as before, remains quite relevant, as evidenced by the large number of published and ongoing scientific papers.
