Abstract

AbstractRelict rock glaciers have been identified in the Maiella Mountain massif, Central Apennines (42° N). They are located at elevations of 2500–2300 m a.s.l. and probably mark the uppermost and southernmost limit of Pleistocene discontinuous alpine permafrost in the Apennine peninsula.
