Abstract

South-East Asia is possibly the most dynamic and quickly changing region in the world. This text presents a contemporary human geography of the ASEAN countries of South-East Asia. Topics covered include: environment and development; plural societies; agrarian change; urbanization and primacy; natural resource development and land settlement. Each chapter begins with a general discussion of the theme selected, before embarking on a detailed analysis of a particular country or case.
