Abstract
Since the late 2000s, South Korea has taken increased humanitarian action on global issues such as poverty and famine in Africa, resulting in the new relations with the African continent led by civil society organizations (CSOs). Due to the geographic and cultural similarities, many CSOs have focused their efforts in Asia. However, over the past decade, the Korean CSOs have significantly increased and extended their development projects and humanitarian campaigns in African countries, while at the same time the Sound Korean government has committed to increased Official Development Aid.
