Abstract

During the latter part of 1982 a joint services expedition travelled to Peru. The aims of this expedition included the setting up of the world's first hover doctor service on one of the main tribu? taries of the Amazon river to provide a primary medical care service for Campa and Quechua Indians living in villages close to the river. We describe the project, the problems encountered, and the prospects for the future.
