Abstract

Abstract A study of Punjabi Muslim women in Glasgow examined their concepts of health; assessments of their own and their families’ health; use of health services; satisfaction with health services and suggestions for improvements. The article presents and discusses the findings on each issue. In general, the women were very interested in health and keen for support in health improvement. It is argued that the women were not receiving their full health care entitlement, due more to features of the health care system, including racism, than to ‘Asian culture’.
