Abstract

“Enabling LMICs to better face and respond to future pandemics will require changes to how and where raw and starting materials are sourced.”The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified existing disparities in access to raw and starting materials in low- and middle-income regions. Initiatives from CEPI, GAVI, WHO, and others aim to mitigate the impact, but in the long term, local production of materials is essential for a sustainable vaccine manufacturing ecosystem.
