Abstract
The study examined the sources of students‟ satisfaction in secondary school administration in Okrika Local Government area of Rivers State, Nigeria. Two research questions guided the study. The population of the study comprises of 3850 students from the 8 public senior secondary schools. 448 respondents made up the sample of the study using the simple random sampling technique. The instrument used to collect data was a self -constructed questionnaire titled „Students‟ Satisfaction in School Administration Questionnaire‟ (SSSAQ). The content v alidity of the research instrument was ascertained by two experts in field of study. A reliability index of 0.81 was obtained using the Pearson‟s product moment correlation coefficient. Data was analyzed using mean and standard. Results from the study revealed that conducive school environment, effective classroom management, adequate infrastructure, effective communication and supervision of quality instruction, qualified and friendly teachers are the sources of students‟ satisfaction in secondary administration. It was also revealed that the principals‟ administrative strategies that can lead to students‟ satisfaction in secondary administration are involving teachers and students in decision-making and ensuring adequate supply and use of instructional materials. The study concluded that students‟ satisfaction is an important indicator of educational quality in school administration and it is an issue that warrants attention of school administrators in teaching enterprise. It was therefore recommended that principals should ensure the school environment is conducive and safe for the learners and should use a combination of various administrative strategies to enable students achieve their purpose in school.
