Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the sources of psychological stress among married and non-married women at Ramtha district according to educational level, marital status, and job status. The sample consisted of (739) married and unmarried women, selected through convenient sampling. To achieve the objectives of the study, a tool to measure the sources of psychological stress was developed. The findings of the study showed that there are significant statistical differences in the domains of the sources of psychological stress (social stress, economic stress) due to the marital status in favor of married women. There were no statistically significant differences in the sources of psychological stress due to the educational level, and there were no statistically significant differences in the domains of the sources of psychological stress (family stress, psychological stress) due to the marital status. Further; there were no statistically significant differences in the sources of stress domains due to job. The study recommended providing counseling programs for married and unmarried women to face psychological stress.
