Abstract

Copper and cadmium contamination is investigated in this work with standard reference material no. 1571 (orchard leaf) from the National Bureau of Standards. Consideration is given to possible sources of contamination during the sampling and handling of small biological samples. Acid-washing techniques useful in removing potential contaminants are also discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on the contamination problems related to the analysis of micro-samples.
