Abstract

This article considers trends and thematic conjunctions within Latinoax theology in order to identify distinct sources and methodologies. Decrying the myth of a normative and universally applicable theological method, Latinoax theologies reflect the mosaic of perspectives within the academy and the church by articulating a collaborative, liberative, ecumenical, and multi-cultural teología en conjunto (“theology done jointly”). So conceived, theology becomes a form of practical wisdom focused on the love of God and love of neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40) that can help tell the Christian story more fully by means of the most basic Christian insight: love of God is inseparable from love of neighbor.
