Abstract

Vehicular traffic safety relies, to a great extent, on traffic control and traffic offence detection. While this is currently in the domain of governmental and road maintenance services, many alternatives, such as crowdsensing-based approaches have emerged. We present a traffic event reporting scheme, focusing on event detection and data source reputation mechanisms. Proposed scheme is evaluated on a set of representative scenarios. Proposal is critically discussed and is followed by guidelines for future work.
