Abstract

The objective of the fieldwork was to test whether or not the two sites have a stratigraphic sequence covering Late Bronze-Iron I-Iron II, as implied by MacDonald's and Miller's surveys. This paper is the final report on the stratigraphy. Two soundings at Ash-Shorabat consisted of several phases, all entirely within Iron II, but with out-of-context Early Bronze I pottery. Eight soundings at Khirbat Dubab uncovered several phases of Nabataean to Late Roman occupation, but with out-of-context Iron II pottery.
