Abstract
The sound velocity has been measured for liquid Se-Te mixtures under high pressure up to 10 kbar. The thermal expansion coefficient and isothermal compressibility under pressure are deduced from the results of the sound velocity. The transition temperature from Se-like loosely packed to Te-like densely packed structure shifts towards lower temperature by application of pressure. It is found that spatial distribution of Se and Te atoms becomes more random across the transition region.
