Abstract

The method of echo pulse overlap is used to investigate the sound velocity in liquid alkenes from 1-hexene to 1-hexadecene with an even number of atoms per molecule at pressures up to 100 MPa in the temperature range from 303 to 433 K. The maximal error of measurements is 0.1%. It is for the first time that experimental data on the sound velocity in liquid 1-dodecene, 1-tetradecene, and 1-hexadecene are obtained. The correlation between the sound velocity and molecular structure of alkenes is studied. The parameters of correlation equations are calculated.
