Abstract

The sound source localization method using conventional microphone arrays has been widely used in industrial and military fields. However microphones cannot immune to electromagnetic interference. Fiber-optic acoustic sensing system has become an important acoustic sensing method because of its high sensitivity and adapt to work in hash environment. In this paper, a fiber acoustic system with three-dimensional sound source localization in air is proposed which use beamforming to complete spatial coordinate estimation. Experimental results show that the system can estimate the spatial sound source accurately. The system has the advantages of simple construction and can be applied in harsh environments, which has greater application value.
