Abstract

The basic application of microphone array is sound source localization in an environment filled with noisy and reverberant. We study the high frequency sound signal localization algorithm of direct path and low frequency acoustic signal localization algorithm of diffraction path based on a helmet-mounted microphone array in this paper. In order to improve the positioning accuracy, we use the intensity difference of high frequency to estimate the sound source location, and utilize we use the compensated time delay which account for diffraction path to construct the steered response power and phase transform (SRP-PHAT) algorithm, which could find the real sound source position. Experimental results show that the localization method of the hybrid algorithm based on high and low frequency of the sound source improves the accuracy of localization, and the hybrid algorithm saves computing time significantly.
