Abstract

Results of computer experiments on the propagation and interaction of sound waves with the aim to minimize the sound pressure in a given zone of a rectangular region are presented. The sound pressure is minimized by the active action of additional sound sources positioned within the region of computation. The optimum parameters of active sources and their positions are determined by solving the minimization problem for the integral functional that expresses the average sound pressure in the given zone of the rectangular region. The problem is solved using a hybrid genetic algorithm.
