Abstract

Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) has been widely used in laminated glass depending on its excellent adhesion, impact resistance, and transmittance. However, it will provide a quieter environment if its sound insulation characteristics can be improved, especially in the mid to low frequency range. In this paper, PVB/PVDF composite film was prepared by electrostatic spinning and hot pressing. By adding 0.1 % LiCl, the β-phase content and the output voltage of PVDF were increased 15 % and 47 %, respectively. The average transmission loss of PVB/PVDF film has been enhanced for 4.4 dB at 64–1600 Hz. It is attributed to the enhancement of piezoelectric properties of PVDF films by adding LiCl. Moreover, the transmittance and impact resistance of the laminated glass based on PVB/PVDF/LiCl have been confirmed by UV–vis and falling ball impact test.
