Abstract
The socialization of legislation on the utilization of flying fish resources in Southeast Maluku was aimed at enhancing the Ur Island community's understanding of fisheries regulations related to flying fish management. This topic was chosen due to the significant role of flying fish as a key commodity that can boost the welfare of coastal communities in Southeast Maluku. The community service methods included counseling sessions, group discussions, and distributing educational materials that matched the community's comprehension level. The activities resulted in better understanding of the relevant regulations and raised awareness about the importance of sustainable management of flying fish resources. Consequently, this initiative effectively increased the community's knowledge and awareness of using flying fish resources in line with existing laws, which is anticipated to promote both economic and ecological sustainability in Southeast Maluku.
