Abstract

The effect of pH on the sorption of trace amounts of ruthenium, manganese and europium on iron(III) hydroxide was studied by radiotracer techniques. The effect of amount of sorbent and duration of the contact between the sorbate and the sorbent were also studied. The results indicate that an iron(III) hydroxide precipitate can be used for the preconcentration of traces of ruthenium, manganese and europium.
