Abstract

The principles of changing texture of co-precipitated double nickel-chromium hydroxides at constant pH value treated at the stage of hydrogel with meta-silicate, tungstenate, molybdate and meta-vanadate anions were investigated in this paper. The BET surface area, total sorption pore volume and pore size distributions were determined from H 2O, CH 2Cl 2, CHCl 3, and CCl 4 vapour sorption isotherms measured gravimetrically. The development of the gels ultramicro and mesoporosity and the growth of their surface areas appear to have been largely controlled by the mode of replacement of interlayer anions by species studied. Sample specific surface areas determined from H 2O vapour sorption were equal to 193 × 10 3–492 × 10 3 m 2kg −1. It was shown that all the xerogels dried at 393 K have both double metal layered hydroxide structure and X-ray amorphous phase. There is a combination of two and three dimensional porosity in texture of materials obtained was supposed.
