Abstract

A particular problem was formulated of the active element redistribution between the layers including Soret effect. The gradient of temperature was demonstrated and its influence on the redistribution of concentration between the layers was shown. It was detected that the Soret effect does not influence the width of the diffusion zone; however, it causes the change of the concentration profile near the boundaries of layers. The Lewis number has influence on the width of the diffusion zone: the smaller it is, the wider the diffusion zone. It was detected that the larger the relation of the thermodiffusion factor to the Lewis number, the more pronounced the Soret effect is (i.e. the larger the Soret coefficient, the larger the difference of temperature between the layers).
