Sonochemical barbier reaction with isocyanates and the synthetic use of the organometallic intermediate

Abstract

Sonication of aryl halides, t-butyl isocyanate and sodium in THF leads to an organosodium intermediate which is easily and regioselectively ortho-lithiated and reacted with electrophilic reagents.
