Abstract
The results of Søndergaards circumclusion technique in the treatment of atrial septal defects with total anomalous right pulmonary venous connection are (at least) comparable to those attained by open correction.Two technical modifications of this technique, derived from embryological considerations on sinus venosus defects, are suggested.
