Abstract

A concise review is given of some recent developments in the applications of matrix algebra to linear control systems. Subjects discussed include stability criteria for system characteristic polynomials : linear Liapunov stability theory ; realization and polynomial matrices; matrix Riccati equations and optimal control : and positive-realness and spectral factorization. A select bibliography is provided.
