Abstract
In this article, experiences as classroom teachers and college instructors over the last several decades to trace the history of rural special education service delivery as well as personnel preparation in rural areas. Based upon these perspectives, some thoughts are provided on the future of rural special education service delivery and the professional preparation of special education personnel in rural areas.
