Abstract
The reactions of niobium(IV) chloride, bromide and iodide with potassium thiocyanate, cyanate, cyanide, and borohydride; sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, and N, N′-bis (salicylidene) ethylenediammine have been investigated. Complete replacement of halide occurs only in the case of the reaction with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, other reactions leading to complex stoichiometries. The magnetic, and vibrational and electronic spectral properties of the products are described.
