Abstract

Abstract There are several reports in the literature(1–3), where appreciable absorption occurs at widths far greater than the interval represented by the total half widths of the primary emission - flame absorption line pairs. This gives rise to spectral effects in atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), many of which have been observed by various investigators(4–7). This note gives two new cases of spectral effects in AAS.
