Abstract

If quarks and leptons are composed of some subconstituents (“preons”) the matrix elements of the various currents in the standard model contain induced terms (“Pauli terms”). The presence of Pauli terms leads to well-defined deviations from the predictions of the standard model both in some decays of the Z 0 boson and in the ratio of inclusive pair annihilation to e +e -→μ +μ -. These deviations will be measurable at LEP and LEP2. The effect of the induced terms on “oblique corrections” is outlined.
