Abstract
In this paper, we correct Shirakura’s necessary and sufficient condition [see,9] for a plan T 1=T 1+T 2 to be a main effect plus one plan, where T 1 is a saturated main effect plan with m+1 treatments and where m=2 h -1 and h(≥2) is an integer. Also, we obtain a plan, which is a main effect plus one plan with T 1 same as in [4] and T 2 having 14 treatments, that serves as a counter example to prove that Ghosh's lower bound on is not correct.
