Abstract

Background As the oil resources are exhausted, the problem of reducing its losses and the oil products produced from it becomes more and more urgent. It is no accident that a large number of publications are devoted to its solution. To reduce losses of oil and petroleum products from evaporation effectively, it is necessary, beside other things, to know the regularities of processes occurring in the gas space of reservoirs. Their experimental study is difficult due to the duration of these processes, the complexity of measurements, and limited opportunities to control the working conditions of reservoirs. Therefore, mathematical modeling of the operation of reservoirs to achieve this goal is of great interest. Aims and Objectives The purpose of this article is to study the regularities of changes in the concentration of hydrocarbons in the gas storage tanks, as well as the duration of «small breaths» during their downtime with gasoline. Results The change in concentration of hydrocarbons in reservoirs of gas space has the form of a sine wave, the local extrema which correspond to extrema of temperature in the gas space. In addition, dependencies were obtained for predicting the duration of «small breaths» during their downtime with gasoline.
