Abstract
The paper presents recent study [1] on finite element analysis of forming processes using the ‘flow formulation’ approach. A more general ‘flow formulation’ is derived to extend its application to those forming processes with porous materials; a simple error estimate and adaptive remeshing scheme is introduced to solve the problems of mesh distortion which is often encountered in the modelling of forming processes and therefore to improve the accuracy of solutions.
