Abstract

Abstract The current state of problems in the physics of comets and astrophysics such as the problem of the anomalous distribution of emission of sodium-type metal atoms in the comae of comets, the problem of the origin of ions of refractory elements like Fe II in the comae of Halley 1986III-type comets, and the problem of X-ray activity of comets is considered. New possibilities for diagnostics of comets and interplanetary dust connected with spectral observations of comets with high spatial resolution and X-ray astronomy are indicated.
