Abstract
AbstractThe problem of radiation from a hard open‐ended circular waveguide excited in the dominant TEM mode is solved. The cases of one‐sided and two‐sided hard‐wall surfaces are considered. The rigorous solution obtained shows that the reflected TEM mode field in the latter case, unlike that in the former case, is completely concentrated at the surface outside the waveguide. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
