Abstract
1. 1. Acid and alkaline DNases have been found in actinia Radianthus macrodactylus tentacles cell lysate. 2. 2. The acid DNase isolated from cell lysate has a pH optimum at 5.0. The enzyme was inhibited by 20 mM Mg 2+, 50 mM Ca 2+, but was active even at 800 mM NaCl. 3. 3. The enzyme preferentially hydrolysed native DNA with forming the oligonucleotides carrying 3′ terminal phosphate.
