Abstract
I am going to talk about some common Western Australian attitudes in a quite unscientific and subjective sort of way, and I am going to mention certain general problems in our community which seem to me to stem to some extent, but by no means entirely, from these attitudes. I then propose to refer to the unfortunate consequences these attitudes may have when they spill over into the field of health care. Finally, I will come up with a possible recipe for the future which I hope you will find not too distasteful.
