Abstract

This paper covers some preliminary work on the use of sodium arsenite, both as a dust and as a spray, in the control of the Lesser Migratory Grasshopper and the Mormom Cricket in Montana. Experiments were made to detennine the effectiveness of this material as a barrier against migrating swarms of these insects. Excellent results were obtained, and they justify further work on the use of this material in grasshopper and mormon cricket control.
