Abstract

Samples with composition corresponding to general formula (Bi,Cu,Pb,Hf)Sr2CaCu2Oz have been prepared by solid state synthesis and investigated. In some of the samples a superconducting phase with very sharp (T≈1K) magnetic transition at Tc=85K has been found. Origination of this phase is caused by the sample cooling rate at the last stage of the solid state synthesis. Comparison of experimental data allows to state that superconductivity is not associated with the Bi-2212. We have also observed weak diamagnetic anomalies at 160K which are stable to thermocicling in the temperature range 300-77K.
