Abstract

Recognition of the geometry of deep-water clastic (henceforth turbidite) reservoirs from 1-D borehole sections is problematic. Much of the difficulty stems from the lack of diagnostic associations of sedimentary structures within individual beds, or groups of beds, that are indicative of any scale of geometry or heterogeneity characteristic of the reservoir.
